How to share your nail art reference

Planning custom nail art in KL? Learn what to send your artist, from clear character references to nail length, 3D details and your preferred date.

Show the details that matter most

A good nail art reference gives your artist more than a colour palette. Send a clear close-up of the design and explain which details you want to keep: a character's face, a tiny painted motif, the shape of a 3D element or the overall arrangement. For character nail art, a clear image of the original character can also help the discussion. If you have several references, say which part you like in each, rather than leaving the artist to guess.

Share your nails, length and shape

Include a recent photo of your nails and tell us whether you have gel, extensions or existing art to remove. Let us know your preferred length and shape, and whether you are considering extensions. The available nail surface affects how much detail can fit without making the design crowded. A detailed face, a miniature drawing or a raised decoration may need a different scale from the one in your saved photograph.

Explain how you want to wear the set

Tell us about an occasion, your usual activities and any preference for a flatter finish or smaller raised details. At Tutuunails, we specialise in intricate drawing and custom 3D nail art, with close attention to expressions, proportions and colour. The consultation is where we discuss those priorities and any practical adaptations. A reference guides the design; the final interpretation also depends on your nails, the materials and the agreed scope.

Confirm the artist, timing and quotation

Send your reference before booking a detailed set at our Kiara Bay studio in Kuala Lumpur. Include your preferred date and ask the team to confirm the design, artist availability, removal requirements, appointment time and quotation. Intricate hand painting and sculptural work can require additional time, so a standard appointment may not cover every request. Avoid leaving a major design change until arrival, when the time available may already be allocated. Explore nail art services and start a consultation.
